Hi, I'm Greg Owen
EXPERIENCE BUILD THROUGH SERVICE AND INTEGRITY

EXPERIENCE BUILT THROUGH SERVICE & INTEGRITY
I have dedicated over fourteen years to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, starting in the Detention Center at age 21 and rising through the ranks to Captain over Patrol and Investigations. From Corporal to Sergeant, Lieutenant, and now Captain, each role has strengthened my leadership, accountability, and understanding of the challenges our deputies and community face.
Integrity has been the foundation of my career—earning trust, making difficult decisions, and holding myself and others to a high standard. It’s a commitment I bring to every role and one I will continue to uphold in service to this community.
RESTORING TRUST & LEADERSHIP
Fremont County has changed over the years, and I am concerned about keeping our community safe. Rising crime and staffing challenges in the Sheriff’s Office make it harder for deputies to do their jobs and for families to feel secure.
Our deputies serve selflessly every day, often under difficult circumstances. They deserve leadership that supports them, values their service, and works to strengthen both the office and the community.
I am running to provide that leadership—focused on safety, accountability, and partnership between deputies and the citizens they protect.

FAMILY, VALUES, AND COMMUNITY
My upbringing was not easy. I experienced firsthand the effects of addiction, instability, and the kind of circumstances no child should have to endure. Those early experiences shaped my perspective and ultimately led me to a career in law enforcement, where I could make a difference for others facing similar challenges.
My wife, Bailey, and I are both graduates of Cañon City High School. We are high school sweethearts, now raising our four children here in the community that raised us. Like any parent, I want my children—and yours—to grow up in a place where families feel safe, citizens are protected, and accountability matters.
I am running to preserve the safety, freedom, and way of life that make Fremont County a place families are proud to call home.
